Welcome To The Emmy Awards. Or Should I say the Modern Family Awards?

...And the Emmy goes to: Modern Family, Modern Family, Modern Family, Modern Family,Modern Family. No doubt about it, the ABC sitcom dominated tonight at the 63rd annual Emmy Awards. The show, which premiered in 2009, has swept the awards show tonight with wins in the Supporting Actor/Actress, Directing in a Comedy Series, Writing in a Comedy Series and the biggest win of all, Outstanding Comedy Series for the second year in a row. When the nominations were announced this past July, all main actors of the show were nominated. It was only a matter of time that Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, who play married couple Phil and Clare Dunphy, caught up to last years Best Supporting Actor Eric Stonestreet. The shows cast now has three Emmys. Which leaves three more of the cast to bring home the gold.(maybe next year).
Other wins in the comedy category went to Jim Parsons for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for  The Big Bang Theory and Melissa McCarthy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Mike and Molly

All eyes and tweets tonight were on Kyle Channler who snabbed the Best Actor in a Drama Series for Friday Night Lights. FNL also won tonight for Writing in a Drama Series. Julianna Margulies took home Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in CBS's The Good Wife. And the men of Mad Men took home Outstanding Drama Series.

The 63rd Emmy Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The Fall Television Season begins tomorrow Monday September 19
