Welcome Aboard Flight Pan Am

Buckle up and don't forget your girdle, adventure calls. Tonight the much hyped about ABC fall show "Pan Am" came aboard to our tv screens. Setting in the 1960s Pan Am's fashion and music took americans back to the good ole days of the Pan Am stewardess. But with all the hype did it make a solid or crash landing?

After watching the pilot, no pun intended, episode I felt as if i was watching a spin off of "Mad Men" on ABC. Christina Richi acting was good for the most part. However, the series kept jumping back from past to present in series of flashbacks for backstory. I found myself wanting to scream out "cut to the drama and enough with the flashbacks"

The series started out with the term, "Don't forget that girdle." It follows the life of two sisters, one who decided to follow in her sisters footsteps as a stewardess after leaving her fiancee at the alter. One plot that i did find entertaining was the storyline of frenchwoman Collete who has a one night stand with a man while on a trip. The man, his wife and his son come on the plane and the wife figures out about the affair in the end. Favorite line, "Put this on your refridge as a reminder not to sleep with another woman's husband"

I found some of the flashbacks unnecessary and thought the fashion and nostalgia of the 60s was at its best with the Frank Sinatra Music playing in the backround.

Just right now 48 percent of viewers voted in Watch with Kristen poll to Save Pan Am. Being a huge Brothers and Sisters fan, i found Pan Am to be a little unsolid to the dramatic family problems of "The Walkers."

We will see how the show compared to others tomorrow morning as Fast Nationals come out but i will give it another try next sunday to have a final verdict.
If not i give it about six episodes before they put a DOA on it.

Did you think Pan Am lived up to the hype?
