Premiere Ratings: Big Bang for CBS while The Angels Have a so-so start, Thursday

It was a big night for TV on Thursday as the return of TV's biggest night proved to work very well for CBS which won the night in total viewers. According to Zap2it.com, The Big Bang Theory got CBS to a good start winning its time slot with a one hour premiere that drew in 14.4 million viewers making it the most watched program for the night. The series premiere of "Person's of Interest", which took over CSI's old time slot, won the 9/8c hour with 13.2 million viewers. while the season premiere of The Mentalist was down 20 percent but still won the 10/9c hour.

It was a modest start for the reboot of "Charlie's Angels" which manage to receive 8 million viewers and was up from last year's premiere of "My Generation." Winning the 18-49 demo was "Grey's Anatomy" which had a 2-hour premiere but was down 24 percent compared to last year, according to TVLine.com.

Simon Cowell's "The X Factor" second night seemed to score the same numbers as the night before but with all the hype given the show, it manage to be underwhelming compared to any "American Idol" premiere. But thanks to the show, Fox manage to win the night in the 18-49 demo.
